Ok, this thing is getting seriously quick

For a stone stock truck. I took the '09 to the track again last night, and I let it cool off a good while, about an hour. I took what I learned about the truck last week at the track and applied it. It rewarded me with a 14.007 at 96.75 mph. This is still stock EVERYTHING.

That, my friend, is cookin'... particularly for the weight and file-cabinet aerodynamics.

The aerodynamics aren't as bad as you might think. I think the cd is .419 on my truck. It's considerably better than the '02-08's. In fact, those were quite a bit worse than the '94-'01's. The 09's are just really getting back to being as good as the earlier ones were.

I can hardly wait to dyno it. The thing is, based on weight and trap speed, the numbers are getting a bit unrealistic for an engine rated at 390 hp at the flywheel, unless they underrated it.

A .42 is still a barn door. If I remember correctly, the Cd on a Superbird was .31. A 440-6v UltraChicken was rated 390 gross, and was several hundred pounds lighter... yet you're right there on the time.

Yeah, I guess it really is a barn door, relatively speaking. It's hard to imagine technology has progressed this far, but that 390 gross is of course less power than my 390 net...from 95 cubic inches less. On 87 octane. 5 forward gears really help the cause, and that's about the only non hp-related advantage I can think of for the truck. Well, that and the fact that modern tires stick better than old bias plys.

Holy goat nuts![smilie=i: I thought the Battuck would aleast bust off a 13 something after you swapped to the drag radials....

Oh, you must mean the short drag radials that tripped the traction control (speed difference between front and rear wheels) and then caused it to nose over because it hit the speed limiter 200 feet or so before the finish line...yeah, those. It ran 14.10 or so with those on it. It felt pretty good for the first 30 feet though!
