Last I heard Tim had bought a Corvette and moved up to a more sophisticated crowd. :D

If that doesn't bring him out in the open, nothing will.

I'm not being mean... I never was. I called it like I saw it, and apparently he didn't like it. Not my problem if he couldn't handle a reality check. Lots of people warned him, advised him, and tried to reason with him about rushing into that purchase sight unseen but he ignored everyone and got burned. Next thing you know, he's swallowing his attorney's sales pitch with the same voraciousness as he did that of the dealership. See a pattern? I tried to point out that his attorney was groundlessly inflating his expectations, just like the guy that sold him the car. Sorry if he didn't like it... again, not my issue.

I'm just curious to find out if his pro-bono counselor managed to accomplish anything other than a courtroom laugh track. This is a situation where I'd be happily wrong, really... but I think we'd have heard aboot it by now.

I remember him getting the Corvette; he posted aboot it here. It was supposedly some kind of raging deal that he was going to flip for huge profit... but he's probably just glad to have a car new enough not to require any actual work. :D

Exactly. [smilie=w: Buff and polish is his niche...turning wrenches is not .

I wonder how many middle aged divorcees are are clamoring for the passenger seat in that plastic go cart. :D

No one was mean to him about that deal, but IIRC he was a bit of a jerk about it all when we objected to his jumping into the deal. Basically said we were wrong and he was right and that the asking price was spot on for the car ... then it arrived and he was crushed.

Middle-age divorcees feel safe in a Vette, no backseat to be invited to relax in.

If he still has it, there's a guy about an hour north of here with a REAL 1966 Satellite 426 Hemi 4-speed car. It's a rolling chassis, ready for paint and assembly, and he has everything needed to finish the car including the original motor, trans, and Dana. Last I heard, aboot a year ago, asking price was right around $25,000. If memory serves it's a red car with a black top and white console gut.

Dang!! Right up my alley in another town! [smilie=e:
If you go by that way in the near future and it's still there, let me know. I think I could unload the Cuda pretty quick. [smilie=e:
