During the full-frame era, I think they did... and C-bodies for a while, too, since their front sheetmetal is all removable, like a Nova.

A/B/E/F/M/J/R-cars? Never... unless the car was black, of course.

Thanks Jass, there's a 67 Sat on Egouge that has the bay black. [smilie=e:

It's on this car and I still want it in the worst way! [smilie=s:
They sent me bigger pics and the trunk is the same color but older paint. Doesn't mean it's the original color but it looks solid. [smilie=e:
I really like the interior colors, black and silver.

It looks nice. Wonder what the reserve is? After I totalled my first runner I transplanted the 383 into one of those which was a 4 sp car and had gobbs of fun with it. [smilie=e:

No reserve, $11,500. start price. [smilie=a:
The first 3 cars I bought were 66/67 Satellites/Belvederes. The first two were 383's and the 66 Belevedere had a 426 wedge 4 speed in her. [smilie=b:
I would prefer to get a 4 speed but that can always be added later or add the Tremec 5 speed.[smilie=e:
Pull the 408 stroker from the Cuda and build the 340 X heads to sell it with. [smilie=e:
Only 2 hours away too, drive her home. [smilie=e:

Dang!!! It's not the original color!! It's KK1, Light Turquoise Poly, I think I'd like that better than resale red. [smilie=e:

This is the color if it comes out.

Hey, looking at that one makes me wonder how Tim is. I know Jass knows who I'm talking about. [smilie=e:

And yeah, I guess a black engine compartment AND a resale red color change means it went through a Chevy guy's hands. Doesn't mean it wasn't done right though.

One thought, if it doesn't get any traffic because of the color change, you might want to go have a gander at it with a pocket full of cash. [smilie=e:

P.S., the belvedere II emblems on the side are worth >$300 each. The clear plastic part falls out. I heard someone was making a decal or something to go in there. I'd take the emblem off before I'd use something like that.

A guy that works in the same complex as me changed his 69 charger from original black to B5 blue........cept under the hood, still black.....sigh. When I say WTF? , its a 69 charger, not a forking camaro. He hasn't driven it to work since. Very sharp car to begin with, scored out of Wyoming with 82K miles for $4500.00.

I figger the Demon's gonna get a black engine department and a splatter - coat trunk just so's you old women have something to complain about.... :D :D

I know - I know - It ain't the way the factory did it...

So why not paint it red when you buy it? That's a decent starting price. And if the rest of the car is going to go back to original, why worry about the underhood colour anyway?

Just met a guy at the track with a black 67 coronet 500 with a 451 4 gear. Its gots fiberglass bumpers and gutted interior but outside of that its flawless. Got a nice pic of it with both front tires in the air, It turned 10s all day. [smilie=e:

If the car is only two hours away, why don’t you go look at it before you bid so you are sure not to end up like Hemidreems.

Re: Hemidreams - The car in question here is obviously a much nicer car than that one. I could tell from the pictures that Tim's car had a 1/2" of bad paint on it hiding something.

Imagine buying the auction car for 11k, then buying a hemi for about the same, spray the engine compartment, put it together, and viola, you gots yerself a hemi car for $22k. Sad to say, that ain't a bad price for one in this day and time, and it's almost $10k less than that Duster I posted the other day.

Actually I just looked and hemis are a couple grand more than that. But you could get a 5.7 for about $7500 - http://www.mopartsracing.com/parts/blocks.html

If he still has it, there's a guy about an hour north of here with a REAL 1966 Satellite 426 Hemi 4-speed car. It's a rolling chassis, ready for paint and assembly, and he has everything needed to finish the car including the original motor, trans, and Dana. Last I heard, aboot a year ago, asking price was right around $25,000. If memory serves it's a red car with a black top and white console gut.

Wonder how Timmeh's lawsuit is coming along... [smilie=e:
