Not a good day for me....

XLR8R

exhalted master of his nuts
I am afraid that my good buddy of 14 and a half years left me today.
His name was Kenya, and when I first got him he would damn near fit in my hand. He was an Australian shepherd Blue Heeler cross and was full of energy until just recently when his age finally caught up to him. He looked as regal as he does in this pic, right up til he slipped away peacefully in my arms. He had not suffered, but had taken a few strokes lately that he had previously recovered from. Until this morning, when we both realized he was never going to be the same. This afternoon he could no longer stand, and, even though his eyes showed the same brilliance they always had, his body had succumbed to age.

I cried today like I have never cried for any human. His pure love and devotion will always be remembered and missed.

Now I have to tell my children that the dog that watched over them, played with them and gave them his unrequited love is now gone.

I am feeling very sorry for my loss. I hope he is in a better place, roaming my moms farm as he so loved to do, running at break neck speed, sniffing all the things he loved to.....:(

I love yah little buddy.

Just dealt with this a few months ago...

Sat on the floor with Duke and held him - I still cry - like I am now.

Sorry to hear it Jon.

Ah man. That's sad.

Sorry to hear about that, Jon.

Find solace in that he IS in a better place.
