I do i do, need to press out the bushing on my lower control arm. How much you think a service shop would charge for that job? I have the new bushing just needs to be pushed out and new one in.

Looks like fun, you press anything yet? or try it on beer cans lol [smilie=a:

I've been using the press so far to press 8.75 bearings, I've got three here to build/rebuild/setup.

The problem I have here is not price, it's finding a shop that's willing to do the job. The local tire shop just says they don't have the right adapters to get out of it when I asked (twice now), and a big body shop ruined a new set of LCA bushings for me because they're morons. So I finally got fed up.

I wouldn't think it'd cost more than $20 to get those LCA bushings pressed out and in. What about the uppers, did already you do those with a vise or big-assed-clamp?

Pay shipping both ways, and I'll do it for you. LOL. I could even bead blast and spray them for you, for a price. I've got a blast cab too. ;)

UCA bushing was nto a problem I used the vise and some sockets, here is a picture

Is it easy for the shop guys to mess the bushings up, if so I might not have them do it. They do ok work but they have there off days. My father will not go back there because they used an impact gun on his spare tire nut (its mande out of plastic so it will not rust under the chassis) says in manuel not to do in HUGE LETTERS lol. They made him pay around 35 bucks and it was there fault. So he now goes to Rons lol, which maybe i sould do [smilie=e: lol

Not a problem at our shop, I just make the adapters I need from exhaust pipe scraps. [smilie=w:

A press is a valuable tool, good addition to the shop BBB!! [smilie=e:

Yep, FYI for all the pressed bearings in an 8-3/4, a 2" x 6" gas pipe nipple is a great adapter.

P.S., I've only been given the adapter excuse over the phone. I'm not gonna try to explain to him that he's a moron unless we're face-to-face. :D

Looks like harbor freights finest-save your reciept all their stuff is gaurenteed as long as you keep the paperwork. [smilie=e:

For pressing out my upper control arm bushings the local Parts Source had a loan a tool that gives you a kit with all the sizes of adapters to remove and install your bushing. Nice thing was get it when you need it and no invested $$$. Took about a minite per bushing once I figured out how to use it.
