New 276-hp FCA four: Hurricane or…?

The Chrysler Hurricane engine remains under development with no release date known, but an engine of the same size, pushing out 276 horsepower, is to be used in the Alfa Romeo Giulia when it appears midyear in 2016.
Whether the two engines are unrelated remains unknown, but given financial constraints, it seems unlikely that they would not be. The Hurricane’s goal was reportedly 300 horsepower in SRT form.
The Hurricane engine, pictured here for the first time we know of, is reportedly related to the current “World Engine” with many changes. An SRT version of this engine reached 285 horsepower some time ago in the Dodge Caliber SRT4. (...) →
