I found out through a few people that Liquidation World here in Canada has a whole bunch of Radio Shack branded stuff going for 75% off.

Radio Shack Canada was bought up by Circuit City and is now called The Source by Circuit City.

All the Radio Shack brand stuff is no good. So, it's being liquidated.

The best part is that they seem to be setting up a section in the store for this stuff. So, you don't have to go digging through all of the other crap to find this stuff.

I went last night and picked up a couple of zipzaps micro RC cars and a tuneup kit that includes a Challenger body and a Mudstain body.

I picked up some x10 lamp modules for $5 each - I normally pay $15US for them. Some network cables.

Oh and an Automotive Electrical Noise filter - 20A Heavy Duty - normally $29.99 for $7.50.

I wanted to get a bullhorn for $37.50 but my wife had some sort of issue with that. It was a real bullhorn - not a toy. Normally goes for $149.

Anyway, all you other Canookians, if you see one in your travels, it might worth a swing in to check out the deals.

Seriously though...

Thanks DCF. About ten years ago they were carrying a really decent rca line, far above the normal RS fare. They weren't selling, mostly due to the fact a 3' cable pair was $129, so they decided to drop the line. I bought a 4cu ft box full of them out the rear door for $20. :D I would kill for that deal again. ;)

Arrrggghhhh! Radio Crap. I watched with amusement (a year ago - more?) when the Radio Craps became The Source. I wondered how they were trying to fool anyone in that short term memories would be mlked as people forgot Radio Crap and got sucked into thinking The Source was new.
So there is still inventory branded as Radio Crap in the stores huh? I thought after the takeover the increase in landfill mass was the direct result of the purge.
Glad to hear someone is making out okay from them.

But that bullhorn......

I just went to the local radio shack to get some bits and pieces only to find it had closed. Rolled over to the next closest store, closed also. Rats. I wonder if they are making some kind of move down here too.

It looks like it'd be about $14 CDN to ship to NJ.

I took the weight from the product page of the one that RS in the US offers and used that to figure shipping from here to there.

I'd have to go back and see if there are any left. There were two - I think - when I was there, but one was ripped out of the box already.

The one and only Radio Shack up here is closed as well. No biggie, they were a last resort for me anyways. (sorry Jr.):shifty:

I use some of the little electronic parts at work, 7-11 is always out of stock on micro switches. I remember when rs sold nothing but elec bits. 68 remembers when they sold nothing but rocks.

I usually ask them to get me a dozen tweeter dimmers while I look for what I went in there for.

ROFL!!! Buddy works in a magazine warehouse and the first thing that is done to all new employees is sending them off looking for the paper stretcher. Some are gone several hours in the quest.

Years ago I was in the printing industry we would make green peas look for paper stretchers, adjustable metric wrenches, left handed screw drivers and God knows what else......hours of fun! :bwuhaha:

and for the record, Radio Shack never has a dam thing I need when I go in there!

Hee Hee Hee Here we ask them to find us a box of color bars or a can of chroma...lol it's so much fun when they go to engineering and actually do it!

I like asking the new guys at work what would happen if you wire a 3 phase heater backwards...You would be surprised at how many people actually have to think about that...
