The Dodge Charger never had a Mod Top option, but in 1971, Marc Rozman captured a 1968 Charger with the psychedelic roof covering.
He wrote, “I have seen more that a few cars having items installed that were not a normal factory option.”Any idea that it was a test prototype was dispelled by retired product planner Burton Bouwkamp, who wrote, “We (Chrysler) did not do it.”
Mod Tops were available in 1969 and 1970 (see photo above). Marc wrote, “The consensus was the top was installed aftermarket, not production. It still makes me wonder what the story was.” If you know the car, write in and tell us. (...) →
