My '78 LeBaron

restoman

The paint fumes have cleared so I'm
Taken back in '92, around the time I got married.
318 with 360 heads, 4bbl from a 360, cheap Hedman headers (tight fit), ditched the lean burn, swapped the A/C over to a newer compressor, slightly worked 904 trans and a 2.94 rear. Ran pretty good for a million mile 318.
Arizona fenders, doors, bumpers and decklid, painted Suzuki Aqua (it was the 90s) and a custom mixed vinyl top dye, grey interior.

I got it for free, did a shitload of work on it and drove it everywhere for 4 years.

Shitty pic- photo of a photo.

boy ive got a shitload of pics of old stuff ive had......

that color looks good..needs a few things to finish it tho

I could find that car in any parking lot, regardless of the available light. :)
Pink and silver pinstriping, not visible in the pic. Like I said, it was the 90s...

I had the rocker molding, never did put it back on. The chintzy wheel opening trim got canned.
I had actually cut up the old front fenders and used the wheel opening portions to fix the rear quarters. Turned out pretty good.

wheels tires and some kind of trim and shed still look great today...but i hated when compays ran those weird back windows taht looked almost 2 peice

Well, if you ever want another one, I know where there's a nice start on a double-red one with a white landau top and a 318. For being in a junkyard, it's still pretty complete and it certainly looks solid. I could probably drag it out of there for a couple hundred bucks. I thought about it a few times, just to flip it because it's a LeBaron coupe, but I've spent enough time on F/M/J-body boards to know those guys literally haven't got a dime to spend. Your car, in that shape, would languish eternally in a For Sale ad if it were offered at $1,500.

Nope, no burning desire to own another, though it was a damned good car for a couple years.

I've been trying to get a viewing of a local, one-owner Aspen R/T that supposedly is a low-mileage 360 four barrel car... one of those guys that wants to sell it on Sunday then changes his mind on Monday. :(

My '81 was a fine car too, but no desire to touch another one with a 10' pole. I think I liked the fact that it was a solid Mopar coupe I got for $350 a lot more than I actually liked the body style itself. It would've made a great sleeper, but all the cool stuff I wanted to do, there wasn't enough love for the car to warrant. I don't miss it.

My buddy is in the process of preparing his '80 Aspen R/T for sale, but that's a Slant Six four-speed car with a weird (but not ugly) Nightwatch Blue exterior/red interior factory color combo. Alas, Southern heritage notwithstanding, it's a bit of a rust bucket. I think he's on the fence about whether it might be worth more in parts. It's got all the cool bits R/T bits on it, although I think he put the early 1-piece deck spoiler on it rather than the 3-piece they used '78-'80. He was sort of where I was with the LeBaron, and then he found his high-school ride and any love or desire of the R/T went straight out the damned window. :D
