Most FCA plants busier in January

Most FCA North American plants were busier in January than they were a year ago.

Based on Automotive News estimates (FCA no longer releases production figures), production was up 1.4% last month.
Only four plants, Jefferson North, Sterling Heights, Warren Truck and Windsor, had lower output on a year-over-year basis. At Jefferson North, the culprit was a drop in orders for the Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee; at Sterling Heights it was the end of production of the Dodge Avenger. Production of the second-generation Chrysler 200 was 100.8% higher than the first-generation model built last year. Warren Truck’s shortfall was due to a slowdown in orders for Ram pickups.
