Mopar parts SCORE

Stretch

Hey! There’s no easy button for a body like this!
Jass tagged me in a post on FB for a set of early A-BODY under chassis headers for $400.00. By the time all was said and done I had a road trip planned for today to meet up with the seller. He lives down state Michigan and I'm in the U.P. so half way is a 3.5 hr. drive to Mackinaw city. I ended up with two sets of 273 camando valve covers, a new set of super stock A-Body springs and theses Doug's under chassis headers with the only run time being a cam break in and 1 pass down the 1/4. He tells me he knows where the commando air filter assembly is and will ship it to me. $600.00 well spent if I do say so.IMG_20171203_162354669.jpg

Nice!
I've heard those headers were about the best you could get... and they look awesome!

thats one hell of a score

those headers are bizzare, id love to see a good clear shot of them..looks like they have a weird slip joint as well as a secondary bolt together point?

something no one has ever been able to answer for me...on those commando covers, are they actualy aluminum with a chunk bolted or glued on or are they steel with a finned aluminum chunk glued on?

You wear waterproof boots don't you? Because you seem to be slippin' in shit on a regular basis.

Dude! Great score! I’ve never seen those headers before, I thought the only option was to cut out the fenders.

TTi And Dougs both make under chassis headers for the early A's. From what I under stand the Doug's fit a bit better and are a bit cheaper. Uncoated Doug's such as these sell new for just north of $700.00. You're looking at around $1100.00 for theses header coated. TTi's are more. Both require removing the steering linkage and the torsion bars because both sneak through the tubs. Both the Doug's and TTi web sights give specific crank shaft center line measurements so their headers clear. From what I understand the Doug's are easier to install do to the slip fit and bolt together design. The TTi's are one piece.

I will get some better pictures of the headers today. Yes they do have some slip fit joints and one side has both slip fit tubs and bolt together flanges.

The valve covers are stamped steel like all factory LA valve covers and the fins are bonded to the cover some how. I'll get better pictures of those too.

True enough Eh? I was telling Jass all week before I went to pick up the stuff "I can't wait for Sunday. I want to get this stuff before the seller changes his mind"! After I got the stuff I was telling him "With all the kick ass stuff I have gotten for this car by accident I'm waiting for somthing bad to happen to me. I hope I don't kick over and die soon"!

Those headers give a whole new definition to the phrase "long tube".
