i had to make the mother of all extension cords tho..cost me 100$ in itself..a 220 40 foot run of 8/3

its soooooo much fun to use too

cool beans!, is it in your possesion yet?

need to wire for mine, from a welder tech friend. kind of a kit bash he takes all the stuff no-one will pay to fix and makes em gooder than new.

We have project going on at work and I've been spending tool money with both hands. Thier money. They saw one of the installer guys throwing a plasma around and said 'you need one of those', I said 'okay' and got the miller extreme. It's pretty damn small,. :) I haven't had the time to even open the box though. :(
How much air do you need to run these things and how much do they use?
I'm taking a day off and still might not get to play with it for a week or so.
Opps not to jack your thread half fish. Just cool new toys. :)

i grabbed mine for 400$ off ebay new with 1year warenty...110 or 220 but all of the house breakers for 110 are 20 amp or under meaning i have to dial the cutter way down or pop breakers like mad...built up the mother of all extension cords so i could put an outlet on the range hookup and run 220 since its on a 40 amp breaker.......the thing is flat out amazing and doesnt require me to scratch a surface to cut it will start up right thru paint and thing undercoat...ive been cutting up an old minivan with it ....its like drawing with and exacto knife on rice paper

it requires 70 psi at like 5cfm...........ohhh soooo quiet but it shure will start some fires.....it puts out less noise than a blow gun for a compressor does

shit boot if you woulda said that i would have gladly bought one from him :p

Are there any kind of attachments to cut a really straight line? Most of the stuff I need to cut usually needs to be welded back together.

You just clamp a straight piece of metal to what you are going to cut. Then just slide the tip of the plasma torch along the edge as a guide. Simple eh?

yeah it realy is that simple..and the same goes for curves and circles..flat out amazes me how i ever did without one........its ranin so its time to build me a cart for the welder and the cutter

Well I have done that with a torch, it seems I must twist my wrist as I follow through. Still get a wavy cut, more practice maybe. Can't wait to see how much time it saves me from a band saw or the drawbacks of actually using fire.

i did the math and the cost of tanks, torch, filling the tanks your looking at the price of a cheep decent plasma cutter...add in the cost of refilling the tanks and by the 3rd time you fill the tanks youve bought a top of the line cutter capable of 1 1/2 inch deep cuts.....if all you doing is cutting that is

i was looking at 230$+ for each tank or a "rental" at like 50$ a month , about 100$ to fill each tank , and then buying the actualy hoses, guages, torch....i will admit i found a complete used setup more than once in the 300-500 range with tanks but at 200$+ to fill the tanks it spooked me into a plasma cutter

Whoa, you must get hit pretty hard at the bottle station, two tall tanks only cost me about 50$ to fill/swap.
