The microchip shortage continues to hit the automotive industry hard, but a first encouraging sign is on the horizon. Namely, the time between ordering a part and its delivery - lead time, in the parlance - is starting to shorten. Experts now predict microchip production in 2022 to be 10-15 percent above last year’s level.
