Mark Wood from Trans-Siberian Orchestra....

dustergal

I have serious issues, so I'm
is at my 11 year old daughter's school right now. She plays violin in orchestra and her music teacher arranged for Mark Wood to come to our school and teach the kids for a couple of days. He also donated a Sting Ray electric violin, to be raffled off at the concert they are holding tonight, proceeds all going toward the school's orchestra program. Their big concert is tonight, they all get to play on stage with him, should be exciting.

Oh, and yesterday, my daughter got singled out by Mark (she loves to sing and dance) because she did this funny dance routine. Mark Wood stopped the song he was teaching, and told my daughter to get up on stage in front of everyone and dance. And she did. LOL. He loved it. That kid cracks me up. Not a shy bone in her body. :D

Not that anyone cares :D but the concert was a hit. My daughter got to pick 5 of her orchestra friends and go up front of everyone and play and they all did my daughter's funny dance move that she invented.

Mark also picked her out of over 300 kids to do a photoshoot with. She got to hold one of his electric violins, and the picture is of her crossing violin bows with Mark. I gotta get a copy of that. so cool.

Mark is a truly awesome player, he played Van Halen's "Eruption" on the violin, Jimmy Hendrix, the Beadles, as well as a bunch of other stuff. He LOVES kids, and inspired the entire music program at our school. Talk about making a difference. What a great guy.

That's pretty cool! :) Rare opportunity when you get to hang out with professional musicians, especially at her age. :)

I guess she really made an impression. Yesterday Mark Wood called her orchestra teacher and now my daughter is doing an interview for some national orchestra magazine. dang

She's already made the local papers twice. Everywhere I go people talk to me about it.

Sorry, I seem like an overly bragging mom, it's annoying but I can't help myself. LOL

lol...thanks for indulging an excited mom. She really is a great kid and deserves this. I'm not just saying that 'cause I'm her mom either. :D Everybody loves her.

Wow! Not THAT is something to brag about. Maybe his next call will be asking her to play for him. ;)

I think she would die from excitement. She's already pasted that picture of herself and him all over her room. He's her new hero, lol.
