Mac Tools online
No truck, no problem!

I was cross referencing some tools I saw on E-bay and ran across this.

but priceless if you "need" something.

I've always found the Mac and Snap-On sites lacking with their selection. Maybe that's on purpose to get you onto the truck to look for what you want. Chances are greater that you'll buy something that way.

they want to oversell too, I looked up a coolant pressure tester, and the first hit was the "complete" set (600 bucks worth) verses just the pump and hook-ups(139). that's after entering the exact PN in search.

:bravo:
It's like a kid in a candy store. I've been paying that damned Snap-On dealer $40 - $50 a week for years now.

It's a weakness, I know. They all look so shiny.

*Must......not......look.They're.......too.........strong..Must....look.....away*

While I don't mind some of the cool stuff that only Snap-On or Mac offer, I stick with Craftsman for most of my tools since the warranty is much easier to deal with (going to the store vs. chasing around a truck or waiting for it to come on it's weekly visit). Actually, the only piece of Snap-On/Mac that I own is an overdriver screwdriver.

Yeah, Craftsman warranty is great. All you have to do is drive to your nearest Sears retailer, present the defective tool to the tool behind the counter, explain three or four times what the problem is and then wait for them to tell you that a replacement is out of stock.
Been there, done that, and still have the broken quick-release ratchet in my toolbox.:dgt:

Snap-On shows up every Monday, takes the busted stuff (rarely does anything break - it's good shit) out to his truck, repairs or replaces it and brings it back in to you.

I've got some Craftsman stuff in my "collection", but the frequently used and abused stuff is Snap-On or MAC.

And it's soooo shiny, it's damn near irresistible. :)

That's not the experience I've had. I've only managed to break 2 things and both were replaced with no question.

Yeah but your not making a living with them.;) As for Craftsman I break plenty but nearest Sears is just down the street and I've never had a problem with returns there...the big Sears in Lacrosse is another story.

The local Snap-On guy never stops at our shop..and that's ok cuz he's an asshole.:D Our MAC guy is great and it seems I'm often handing him money for those lovely shiny baubles. :shifty:

I used to keep stripping / busting Snap-On ratchets. Never busted a Craftsman wrench....wait yeah I did...69.5's favorite 5/8 :shifty: but it was HIS engine I busted it on! :toot: Don't recall using many Mac tools. No where to buy em up here anyways.

That's funny, 'cause up here its the opposite - the Snap-On dude has become a good friend and the MAC guy is an ass. :) The previous MAC dealer was an Ace tho'.

Gotta million Craftsman tools. Won't buy anymore being most are made in China these days which means they's crap.

I have a bunch old "Gray" tools that I've owned since the late '70s. Never managed to break one of them....

....Flamin' head has tho....:D

Yeah, I'm of the Craftsman first (cuz I don't make a living with them) and the trucks for needed items camp. Bastardized torx for Mitsu head bolts come to mind.

I have noticed the degeneration of craftsman quality, I was putting together a "travel" box and needed a few odd wreches and sockets to make sets. first time out I stretched the 1/2 inch open end. got a bucket of stuff to go back again.
