Drowning deep in my sea of loathing...so I'm
The annual langley good guys cruise in was today. Usually 1500+ cars! Friend and I went down in the wagon before 6am to sit at the entrance gate and watch every car cruise in...great way to watch a show!

Anyway took a few pics of cars that interested me. Here they are....

79 Ramcharger

88 D150 with a V6 and a 5speed....46K original miles

42 International

62 Belair with a LS motor...

70 Satellite with a BB....

Rims intrigued me on this one...

Early A-body with a tunnel ram small block, huge meats out back and a pistol grip shifter...Sounded evil....HELL YEAH!

I like me a green 71 Chally...

One of my favorite vehicles at the entire show....84 J10 Jeep. Never new they were still making the pick ups into the 80's.

Real GA4 340/4spd 72 challenger....

Cool dodge truck...but SBC powered... :( SHould have had a cummins in it!

Didn't realize they were producing the Vista cruiser style roof line on the buick wagon back in 65....Neat car.

68 Coronet 440...318/auto with low miles....all original.

71 RR...400 car, but now a 440.

That's all the pics I took. I know with all those cars I should have racked up a lot more...but you see the same cars all the time from show to show, and it's the odd balls, and unknown cars, that catch my eye. ;)

So how "low" were the miles on that '68 440? I just turned 27k on my SeeDan. :toot:

you shoulda checked that vista..some of the early ones had this really strange as fuck slip back rear glass for easy loading

pretty well dig all the truck pic's...especialy that CORRECTLY done 4dr coe...that were smart and used 4 doors to build the rears..cutting off the front half of the 4 doors using 1 driver 1 passenger for each rear door to give a FULL window frame and ZERO goofyness.....id like more pics of it

The "intriguing" wheels on that Challenger were the first attempt at an aluminum Rallye wheel. The person that designed them had no concept of scale, using original-size holes in a much-larger-diameter wheel, making for one ugly chunk of rolling stock. People stayed away in droves, and a newer design has since become available that's much closer in overall scale to the original. My friend put a set on his '71 Charger R/T. They're still not as pretty as the originals due to the rubber-band tire sizes required, but they're definitely better than what that poor fella's saddled with.

The A4 Challenger is a bit of an odd duck, being a 340 but not a Rallye... and the '79 Ramcharger's got a decidedly 1978 front clip on it.

Though the confirmed word seems to be that the J-series Jeep pickups went out of production in 1988, the Jeep dealer for whom I was a parts manager in 1995 had a 360-4V J20 tow/service truck. It was dark blue with a tan interior and had a light-duty hook setup in the back; it was not a dually. Both the registration and proof of insurance said the truck was a 1991 (yes, I got pulled over in it). I have no idea how they got it or any story behind it, and my poorly-worded inquiry to one ot the owners got me only a confident,"Yep" as a response and I didn't press any further. The dealer had been in the business of selling brands that would become AMC as far back as the mid-1930s, so maybe they had some connections that could get such a vehicle built. I honestly don't know.

Well 88 as the last of the Jeep pick ups is still later then I ever knew about. I was almost giddy when I saw the truck pull in! I really like the big old Jeeps Cherokee, Wagoners etc. A 1991 J20 would be a cool unit. Cool that you had personal experience with it.

Sweet rides out there...

I love the International p/u.

I actually spotted that IH pick up the day before down at a Recycling depot...he pulled a bunch of bags of cans for returns out of the back. I was struck by it then, so was glad it showed up for the show.

This was the first time I had seen that 68 Coronet 440. Can't recall ever seeing another 440 model locally before...so I was really wanting to check it out.

It remonded me of the 68 Coronet 440 4dr 383/2bbl with A/C that I bought out of the wreckers many years ago. Car had suffered a bulkhead connection electrical fire and was sent to the wreckers. It was all complete except for carb and radiator, and no rust!! I paid $200 for it...delivered to my place. :) It donated a lot of parts to my convertible restoration. ;)

I was at that show, cow. A buddy of mine owns a 383 coronet that's the same colour. I thought it might be his his, but it's not...

Man, what a zoo. I had to park on the top floor Casino parking garage, but it was well worth the hassle. Got a sunburn and enjoyed every minute of the show, but didn't take any pics :-(
