Lancaster gunner.jpgLast weekend we took the kids to go check this out, a genuine WWII bomber. It's in the process of being restored so the wings were put away but one of the coolest things we've ever done. Up into the nose and then walk through the entire plane from front to back :dance: Got a little tight in a few spots and I can't imagine a crew of 7 at 20,000 feet! The Canadian military was on hand, which the kids just loved. The little soldier is my 7yr. old daughter :D

Ever look in the fuselage of a fighter? Looks like something outta "Alien". :D
 
Very cool, I love watching the military channel and all the shows about the harsh conditions those guys flew in.:cool:
 
I just keep wondering how to shoe horn one of those engines into an old Ramcharger or D150 mud bogger :hmmm::D
 
Cool pics man. I remember when I lived in Oregon the Spruce Goose was stored in a warehouse just down the street from where I lived. Of course the thing was in pieces as it was just being stored there till the final destination was ready for the thing. It was pretty cool to walk by and see the bay doors open and the nose cone and wings on one wall and the fuselage out back. Wish I'd have had a camera back in those days. Old war planes are so cool!! :gaga:I really like the looks of the A-10's too. :)
 
hey fishy doesnt that thing remind you of the bomber cafe out in portland?

and the goose got itself a MASIVE home and is in one piece i think now...been meening to go out and look
 
i was there on saturday ... it was sweet having that chance to crawl around in one of those. My grandfather worked on them babies when he was in the war ... so it was nice to see what he was working on....

DOn't recall going to the Bomber Cafe. Never really got out to Portland all that much and when I did it was usually Pioneer Square. :huh: If I remember correctly the Goose is in Newport? :huh:
