phone pic backup feb 22 12 574.jpgphone pic backup feb 22 12 575.jpgphone pic backup feb 22 12 587.jpgdecided to keep the hood at home and chemical strip it altho it looks good in the above pictures it had hairline cracks and a few bubbles tho they werent rust the were bad /old bondo work but as some of you know expecially rusty know! chemical stripping is not easy ! it sucks and still takes multiple layers of stripper to get it all off! but for us cheap asses that cant afford media blasting it works and it aids in fingerprint removal! we wont go there tho!..lol...but as I was stripping it I started looking at the original vit C shinning through! and thinking of how it had looked in the early years from the stripping layers I could tell the scoops had one time been painted black and under the car it still has some left over side pipe hangers so it could have been "GROOOVY"! back in the day lol

So what is the wide white on the aluminum slot holding up?

Oh... I love vitamin C!

phone pics 630.jpgphone pics 627.jpgphone pics 638.jpgWe "my friend duck and shoppy sounds like a nursery ryme" lol started on the cuda 2 weeks before the big car show down here... duck just opened a new shop and thought we could do the run to the gun like on tv BS!! lol things always happen Shoppy's family member died in CA and he had to fly out He was the body man! I can and have done it all but mostly a painter! hate body work! altho it turns out good for me I'd rather pull my own teeth than do it and about the same for duck but We had to undertake the challenge ! I know duck worked quiet a few nights all night and I was up there with every one of my kidsthat i could con to go every chance I got just alot of sanding that had to be done! thought it was about time I tried tranining me a new body working person!! BWhahahahaa!

The first pic there is the Duck! talented airbrusher also! we teach each other chit back and foruth you know kinda like the blind leading the blind! this is urethane primer after first stage of body work then it and then the work begins again a quick guide coat and long block everything! beer helps!!

Yea every part! I chose to remove the wheel well chrome and paint the door handles body color they are originals and have got a little pitted so it'll give it a more uptodate look and save me from having to buy the new ones now! just more sanding! I had held to the stock way for a long time but tired of that ! I slowly started changing engine stuff then steering wheel...kinda just keeps progressing but I like it better and thats all that counts to me! the kids can change it if they want? after Im gone course it might have to be a little fumeAgated cause I plan to be buried in it:toot: Lmao!phone pics 652.jpgphone pics 646.jpg

1 hell of alot of long blocking, touch up, guide coating....and more blocking! every part! I finally saw some Vit C! getting it mixed was a choir in its self! getting the original color mixed by the old mix formulas with the new paint base coat clear coat stock. I could have went with the new challenger hemi orange but it wasent quiet the same color ? might have been a little better looking of a color but!? the original had a little bit of a carmel tint than the newer anyhow I went with the original mix

We finished all the parts in VitC . while it was drying I took the grill and fish gills under the doors home with me fixed a couple cracks and repainted back argent silver I've had them black, dark silver/silver speckeled etc. over the years first time I've had them painted just argent metallic looks cleaner but more stock I might have liked the darker graphite color the best of all!? my son zane there in the last pic, all gave out from a long nights work! you see... its 3 in the morning on a thursday some parts just got painted ! dead line of the car show that kept us jammin is saturday! see the duck there He's in such a rush normal cameras cant catch him clearly on film! lol!

I like the Vitamin C in contrast to the Hemi Orange, actually. Both the original Hemi Orange and the new Challenger color are both darker and more red than Vitamin C.

Yea I know what you mean Dr.Jass the parts I left that needed jammed looked tomato red in comparison. I had always thought it was brighter orange but compared its red! I dont hardly see a orange lol..Yea I think the old Ev2 Tore red or Street Hemi orange on the new challengers are close, but I think the Ev2 Has a little more mettalic than the newer. also I think the new Vit C/Race Hemi orange color on this years challengers or whatever they call it now. is more orange or brighter than the older version. theres two of the new challengers within blocks of my house i think their trying to copy! lol. I keep wanting to see an new challenger with standard 15 inch cragers, big and littles with a go spoiler I think they might be alot more muscle looking!? funny everyone with muscle cars are trying pro touring and the newer are trying to muscleize back cool! lol

the wifes phone camera really shows the Vit C color more my Iphone makes it look more red orange? anyhow that following friday night we worked till three again and went back saturday morning the morning of the show and worked till after noon ! it was going to the show entered or not! late, done, didnt matter! we pushed to hard to fail! I really wanted the stripe on but had to wait at least 24 hours or run the risk of it bubbling up plus it still neeeded color sanded and buffed so off it went Idrove it the 40 miles to the show got there about 2... awards at 4 but she was there ! of course I had to keep people off it trying to get a contact high and kids from gitting orange undried pant on them lol! phone pics 675.jpgphone pic backup feb 22 12 622.jpg

phone pic backup feb 22 12 638.jpgphone pic backup feb 22 12 629.jpgphone pic backup feb 22 12 624.jpgphone pic backup feb 22 12 635.jpgevery one thought the cuda looked good at the show! That night I started the wet sanding on the hood and top then drove it back to ducks bodyshop where shoppy our abcentee body man had made it back so I finished the wet sanding and got him fired up in the buffer ! and He can definatly spin a buffer! lol A days worth of that and around 5 I started lining out the stripes.. like I said I like the original color but just couldnt resist the strobe stripes I've always wanted them instead of the hocky stick but untill know couldnt do away with it ! Iknow I know strbes were on aar's not big block cars! so I had a custom 383 one made I like it ! what do you think? agin my wifes camera phone taking these pics!

Brought it back home the next day and started all the jamming and doing the things I didnt want to tie ducks shop up to do I still have some engine bay detailing to do when I get some time !? real soon I hope! phone pic backup feb 22 12 648.jpgphone pic backup feb 22 12 659.jpg
