Well I just went and got a new keg for the old kegorator but they want to charge me an additional $18 deposit on the keg .... I guess there are so many people steeling the kegs to cook home brew in now that they are serial numbering the kegs now and charging an outragious price for deposit to make sure they get them back..... Ever sense school I always loved the method of punish the masses rather than the idiots that cause the problem......

So you guys that keep a keg at home like me dont be shocked when you have to tack on an extra nearly $20 for your next keg!!!!! the dumb ass where I bought mine could not even tell me why they had a tag and he needed to charge me the extra money!!! NOT that I could have understood his version on English that was coming out of his mouth.....:bravo:

The recycled value of the stainless steel exceeds the deposit. Too many kegs were being turned in for scrap. Plus many of the empty kegs were being stolen for scrap. This has all prompted a need to up the production of new kegs with the added costs being passed on to the customers.:(

Where I work we charge the customer a 30$ deposit, (liquor stores and bars) we get charged that by the brewers.
Just an fyi, most brewers don't own the kegs, they lease them.

the thing is .... my keg lets say I made a $40 deposit on it when I got it..... (first one a couple of years ago) now they want to rais the price of the deposit.... so why is my keg that I bring back worth less than their keg???? why do I have to pay an addtional deposit??? obviously if I already have one and I am bringing it back I am not the one that is a threat to take it to a salvage yard!! I WANT BEER!!! if you think like JC said you would have to bring back your core waterpump and an extra $10 because you have an old one????????????

Tex once you and Ed start drinking you'll forget all about the $18, hell keep it and get feets to build a turbo or something out of it.
