It fired right up!

It’s been sitting since last spring.
The most recent wind storm blew the cover off and it sat for a week or so uncovered.
Today was a nice and balmy 40F. So, I went out to put the cover back on and decide to give it a bit of exercise.

It took a few cranks to get the fuel going, but then it fired right up.
Gotta love an old MOPAR.

I cleaned up and painted some wheels last fall.
I’ll get some tires on them for the spring.

Dad's were mostly 60's, 63 300 66 300 (that turned into my first car) 68 I think was the NYer, the imperial may have been early 70's
Dad & his partner (auto parts store) got one about every three years, partner was the salesman & on the road most of the time, He got the new one, dad took the used one, put much less milage on.

Finally got some tires and got my mechanic grandson to put them on the rims at his shop.

Today being the day for the F1 race in Montreal, I decided to see how I would fare as a pit crew against the F1 crews.

I’m pretty sure the race was started, run, finished and everything packed for the next race while I got 3 out of 4 swapped.

The last wheel was seized on the hub. So, I just hit it with PB Blaster around the studs and tightened up the lug nuts again.
I’ll give it another shot in a few days or so.

At least it’s got 4 tires that hold air now.

If the penatrant doesn't help then heat around the center hole with a propane torch. (repaint it after 🤔 ) Then, while hot beat the rim visciously with a maul. You can thank me after. :giggle:

Sledge-o-magic did the trick.
Two hits.
That makes me think that if I had spent 30 seconds more looking for my sledge, I would have had that wheel done last weekend.

As I’m putting the last ugga-dugga on the last lug, the centre cap fell off.

Good thing I had a spare centre with a cap.

So, the wheel came off, the centre got swapped and the wheel went back on.

How many times does it take to get the centre of the wheel on the hub and the studs line up?

I kept hearing the car ask, “Is it in yet?”
Damn.

(I did torque everything to spec when I was done.)

Did you put a little grease on the studs and inner diameter of the rim?
