Interfearance engine be damned! I ant scared!

Stretch

Hey! There’s no easy button for a body like this!
I bought my Tundra a couple of years ago with 130,000 miles on it not knowing if the timing belt had ever been changed. The recommended service for the belt is 90,000 miles. I now have 180,000 miles on it and have a trip to Joliet Ill. for the NHRA drags coming up this week so I figured I better get it changed. Good damn thing I did too! :D :D

The job took about 4 hours. That is a bit slow but I didn't really want to do it. After a week of working on cars at work the last thing I want to do is work on my Daily at home. After I finished the timing belt and components I cleaned and detailed the interior and washed and waxed the exterior.

most water pumps are used as an idler in some way lol....but thats the spooookyest timing belt ive seen that hadnt let go

180,000 miles is a major testament to the quality of that belt.

I changed the belt on my '95 geo prison at around 270,000 miles. It said Toyota on it (a geo prism is a toyota corolla) and was actually slightly worse than the one pictured. I assume it was probably the original one. But yes, original toyota belts must be damn good. Thankfully, many toyota engines aren't interference designs, or at least weren't 20 years ago.
