I'm looking around for some numbers

1966D100

Behind my Polysphere making engine noises and
I'll be going to Iola for some parts. One thing i'm going to glance for is a 440. What years/part numbers i should look for (or look out for) when searching for one?

I got an engine masters magazine where they put hemi heads from stage V and amped up the main studs on the 440 (i think there's was a74 vintage from a RV.)

me and my ford friend ( i know, i know, i said ford and friend at the same time), he's the one who's being shipped over to Iraq. But he wants me to build up the D100 or the Dakota so he has a formitible oponent for his 347 Ranger. I'm the only one who can talk smack to him, and him likewise, and actully know what i'm talking about.

He's got a 94 short box ranger, he's gonna be running ford gt X heads, a stoker crank and larger bore to make it a 347, and he's adding a super charger. Also, fuel injection off a H.O. late modle mustang. a Four link in the rear as well. He's estimating a net weight of 2,900#.

If i get a 440 for the D100, its getting a....

end cid of 520

est. 600 hp at 5,460 rpm

est. 625 lb-ft at 4,600 rpm

9.8:1 compression ratio

Bore/Stroke: 4.350 x 4.375

Bore/Stoke ratio: 1.55:1

i can list the parts but....

here's the article. Its very tempting (i'm thinking of doing this after college and depending the income i get by then)

I mean, just think, mild mannered look outside, two tone paint job simular to stock look. And that beast under the hood [smilie=e:

anyone know of an under hood super charger for this thing?

IMO a 440 is a 440 is a 440 is a 440 and so on.....all that really matters is the block is good and a sonic test and magnafluxing will tell ya that. [smilie=w:

RV motors generaly have either EXTREAM high milage or VERY low milage..also they have a extra set of drain holes in the back sides of the water passages

The ribbed blocks are the strongest usually- like my 71. Steel crank a must for seriuos numbers.
