ignition switch

On some cars the nut itself "is" the bezel, but I'll let the A-body guys chime in about the particular application.
 
as i recall for 67 there is a huge chrome "bucket" for a bezle...if not its a slab of plastic..im confusing 67 and 69 as 68 is just a nut inside the luwer padded dash

all i can say from here in bc is FISHY go snap a pic of the red ones dash...

if your missing any of the peices let me know as i know where all my ignition switches and bezles are at.....im 99% positive you have the bucket style

i do have another questiuon tho...do you have matched door locks to the ignition or not....do you WANT them matched?..if you dont have a matched set and want them matched ill galdly do it for free you need only ship me the set i can do it in a hour and set em out the next day

This is the case on the 'Runner as well. Went out and snapped a pic.

I just used a needle-nose pliers to install.

ok this is what i have






When i installed the switch and went to tighten the "nut/bezel" it would not tighten down at all and i could move the whole housing back and forth and it was as loose as a hooker. I meant to take a pic of the dash frame but i forgot.

As for keys i have a matching set for doors and ignition.
 
Does it actually thread on nice and tight on the ignition switch? Does not look right to me.
 
Hmmm.might be. Did you not remove it? Maybe there is something behind the dash not allowing the ignition switch to pop through far enough to engage the threads?
 
there are a few switches btw....but if that the swtich i sent it should be the right one.....do you have a chrome dishe for it to sit in?
 
no i don't have the chrome dish

I have a few other switches but my impression is they came from a 73/75 duster (in a box with duster wrote on it) This one may have also been in that box too. I dug around looking for a different switch but the rest are too modern.
 
well ill say this..when i sent xl the dart ...there was an ignition switch and attached to it was a matched set of door locks all the keys were repined to match...who knows where it is now lol..i think i had actualy ran a keyring thru one of the pins on the ignition as well as both the door lock rod holes to make sure they stayed together as it came out of one of my spare sets...regardless its sounding like you dont have all the right parts...go grab a shot of your dash so i can verify what your missing...since i cant get fishy to go get a shot of the red fish dash...
 
also that bezel nut is wrong for the cup setup i remember the 67 dash having....that nut looks like it came from an a-100
 
and that right there is how a gt/cuda dash ignition should look..anything else is WRONG...69 got the plastic i guess...but unless you have that chrome cup and that nut it aint going to work..dig thru what youve got and let me know...cause i suspect when i get home that ive got atleast 1 more set in my stash
 
Ok i found this today all wrapped up in bubble wrap and packaging tape as thick as a roll.... but no chrome cup yet. I may have to do some more digging but i do not recall ever seeing a cup, but that does not mean it is not in one of the hundred of boxes or got moved into the wrong box.





I have not tried it in the dash yet because i did not have tome today. but here is what the dash looks like

 
yup thats the the ignition i sent along with it the way i wrapped it..should have been with a pair of door locks that matched that key

dig and see if you can find the cup if not ill see about digging you up opne but you SHOULD have it..and yes that dash needs it
 
Ok i spent a few hours digging and hunting high and low and every nook and cranny i could think of. Unless i missed a cranny i did not find the cup thingy. But in my head i know i saw it, but could have it confused with the handle off of the pair of loppers i broke the handle on.

Do you happen to have just the cup?
