Gimme details when ya get a chance. I'd hate to see you buy a 5 bedroom double wide w/Airstream or Old Pickup truck add-on. in the middle of a swamp that you have to hop across the gators' backs to get to the front door. That would mean you bought the house next door to me

Not always. I've had a hand me down couch last longer than 3 new ones.

If I had put the money into recovering the old one, I'd be ahead of the game and have a real nice couch now.


And I'll take a 20 year old house over a brand new one anyday.

Unless you're having it built by someone you've hired, new is not necessarilly better. The exception might be an "estate neighbourhood", but I don't get out to those very often...

Technically, my 20 year old 5-level sidesplit house is 1800 sq ft, but with the basement completely finished, living space is almost double that. Yet, I still feel cramped. There's not enough room to store my crap.

I agree on furnature, but all of mine is a LOT older than that. With the devorce sofar all I have gotten for sure, was built before 1860. But I might get the bed if it will not fit in her new apt.

I love older homes grew up on a farm home was late 1870s remodled by my grandfather before he died in 1926. I have owned 2 other homes a 1175 home in Modesto. and 2250 here in chandler. Modesto home built in 1970 Chandler home in 1993. The home here in chandler was built better then all the others. 2/6 construction very little problems except plumbing. and AC. But it did not have the style of the older home.
