I picked up another keeper...

But I want them... Not really, I thought there was an actual benefit, didn't even consider the LCA bushing wear issue until you mentioned it. I'll grab another straight used set, one of mine was bent. Heading back to my favorite 'yard in a couple weeks, hopefully monsoon season will be over by then. The D44 will hold up under a lightweight car with a basically stock 360 Magnum, and if not, there are a S#!t-ton of C bodies I can yank an 8-3/4 out of and have it narrowed.

Oh, my son's best friend's mom owns a powder coating company, not that it matters much this go-round on the Valiant, but it'll be really cool when I get to the Challenger.

I have more pics of the Challenge-R, Glad I'll have something to play around with whilst I gather parts, and skill, to rebuild it sheesh... Nope, I do not regret it at all!!!

To the right of my car you'll see an original '74, 360 Challenger Rallye, that literally rotted into the ground. It is loaded up car too, sway bars on both ends, Rallye Dash, A/C, etc. Presently being parted.

Flat hood... :)
Lots of work there, wish I was closer to lend a hand.
How are the rockers?

Me too! Flat hood is going away to make room for a T/A hood.

My brother told me the outer rockers have a "little rust", but the inner sides are solid. I'll get him to get some more pics when he goes back on Monday. He also needs to check the rest of the rails, I know one for sure has a bad section. Floors are shot all the way through, but that was expected for a 20+ year junkyard refugee.

This applies to both cars, does reinforcing the lower control arms and stock K frame make a difference? These cars will be run hard, the Challenger will be a big block car. The suspension will be just as it was designed back when they were new.

Any input on UCA's?

Expect some inner rocker work as well... But they're fairly simple to do.

I am, I'm expecting a lot of work. I have a plan, hopefully I can stick to it pretty closely. It involves a rotisserie, a plastic media blaster and a lot of patience.

I know I'm way ahead of myself with this question, but do I cut the rust out first and go back in to blast, or just get after it and cut later?

I usually blast first. The blasting will likely uncover rust-through that you didn't see beforehand.

Fender tag.

I put the K frame back in back in the Valiant, don't need any trouble with the city. Put it mostly back together, missing all steering linkage, torsion bars and strut rods. There are a couple small pieces of 2X4 between the sway bar tabs and the bumper mounts for the UCA's, stance is pretty close, damn rollers are too big.

Ah, I also found a pair of fenders, they're 1968's, attached to a '69 Valiant 2 door, $475 for what's left of the whole car. Going to snap it up after Carlisle.
