Hi Folks


The Bergen Record newspaper is sponsoring a NJ Band RockOff w/ the top prize being a recording contact w Eyeball Records. As many of you are aware,
Jerry DeCarlo, Tony Mazza, Pete Salomone, and myself have been working on our own CD for the past millenium (only kidding, just feels that way). In actuality, about 5-6 years. The CD is done, artwork is being finished, and, it is just about ready to be released.

What we are asking of all of you, if you will, is to go to the site http://mix.northjersey.com/rockoff.php
and click on the "VOTE NOW" button between October 3rd thru October 17th. It will fire off a random selection to listen to and vote on. Once you click on submit, the next song will start, and so on. You may vote as many time as you wish during this period. It is a random selsection process to keep everything fair.

Anyway, our band is called "Waiting for Helen" and the song that we have submitted is called "Good Good Woman", if I say so myself (and I can cause I am writing this!), a really rocking song written by Tony (aka onehellofadart)with excellent guitar work by Pete and Tony and a great dual lead towards the end.

So, if you can, please check it out beginning next week and lend your support not only to us, but to all original music in general.

If anything else arises, I'll keep you posted!

Just a reminder to everyone - you can go to the calendar and view the event - you can also click on "Send Reminder for this event" and you will get a notification when the time comes.

Being a fellow musician, I say to you, good luck. I hope that you guys get off on the right foot and stay on that foot.

"Blues boogie rock" sounds kinda interesting.
 
Thanks guys. Voting starts on Monday! You can vote everyday of the contest. It's not limited to just one vote!

You were lucky. I spent over an hour to get to the right band.

So, being the propeller head that I am, I hacked out the web site into a file that I saved onto my desktop. Now, I just have to open that file and it takes me right to the "Waiting for Helen" entry. Once I vote it takes me to the next page on their website. So, if I want to vote for Tony again, I have to go open my file again - much easier than surfing some of that tripe on the site though.

Now, don't get me wrong. I don't want to start another "vote fixing" scandal. (What was the dogs name again?) I just wanted to make it easier to get to the band that I want to vote for.

To be fair I did listen almost all of the bands that the randomizer took me to - not all, but most. I voted for all that I listened to - some were yes, most were No.
