I am so sick of

We have permanent stamps here too, but when they released them, they said there was no guarantee that they would continue to accept them... WTF?

So far, no problem, but that just tells me that they haven't thought things all the way through.

for those of you south of the border, MPP is Member of Provincial Parliament (see we're consistent with the naming convention).

Nope - were not consitent at all actually...

Out here Provincial goofs - er - politicians are MLAs (Member of the Legislative Assembly) My Dad was the executive assistant to one of them many years ago.

:) A crook by any other name is still a crook.
They used to be called MLAs here too.

Today I delivered no less than 5 political posters to every house that I have on my route. A lot of those got even more than that. I had about 60 houses that got 16 or more of these. It took me 1.5 hours longer to do this at time and a half. So, yes it does cost some thing.
I have to agree on one thing, the Canadian government system is confusing. Believe it or not, I was assigned to a Canadian artillery unit at Wainwright (while in the US Army no less) several years ago. I was like a fart in a whirlwind trying to figure that system out.
Any way, by Wednesday morning, it will be settled (I hope). I wonder what Jay Z's "hail to the Chief" version will sound like?

Just thought of another thing I'm pretty sick of, idiots who have never done _ANY_ research whatsoever aside from listening to whatever _SINGLE_ source of news they listen to. I've taken the time to check various issues and policies and looked into both sides, don't piss my time trying shove bill O's or rush limbaugh's or whothehellever's opinions down my throat then try to present them as facts, I've checked, have you? Everyone is entitled to their opinion but too many people can't from one on their own and simply parrot what they've been told.
Whew. That was mildly liberating.

"The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory!!"

But I agree...do a little research on your own and try and figure out which political candidate will at least be gentle when they screw you.....:shifty:

Yeah, like the customer I had in the shop the other day that commented he wouldn't vote for the "Muslim" (False) then goes on to say how so many people are misinformed about the candidates.

I just want this BS all to be over! Funny though, the Mike and the Mechanics song "Can you hear me" keeps running through my head.

BUT they're all still "members".. So, yeah, we are consistent.
That's what I meant...

My sister used to live in Wainright. Her husband was the barber on base.
Wainright is the place for most of the liaison training with other countries. Ever bump in to a British Liaison Officer doing his JOB while you were up there? Yeah, they had t-shirts made up. My brother printed them.

Criminal Minds was a pretty good watch last night.

Not that I don't care what happens south of the border, I just don't care to listen to all the jackasses covering it.

There are only a few that I find tolerable at any given time and that can vary... and it has nothing to do with my politics or their slants and biases. I just find that any news reporter/anchorperson/editor/etc.. comes off as self-serving at some point and I take offence to that. Their job is to tell the facts as they've seen/gathered them and let me form my own opinion. Don't explain anything to me, because once you start that, you're injecting your own thoughts and opinions, and therefore, your bias. If something needs explaining, get an expert on camera or just repeat what they've told you and tell me that "An expert explained it like this..." Better yet, get two experts, preferably with differing opinions.
And by expert, I don't mean someone on staff that specializes in reporting the news in a particular area. You can get them on for their editorial comments, but as soon as they start "explaining" things to me, they lose credibility in my book.

I don't read newspapers either.

Here's an example, An article about fish oil supplements on the local tv station's web site caught my eye because Lisa just started taking it. There was one paragraph from the ahem "newswriter" then a link to a vitamin distribution site that tailors their "news" articles for their product. jeebus!

"what'cha doin, downloading porn?" "Nope I'm researching news stories"

Then your brother in law cut my hair, several times. That was a barber shop like no other too. I have before nor since gone into a barber shop that had 10 to 1 ratio of porno mags to sports mags. In fact, I've never seen a porno mag out in the open any where but there.
The brits were pretty useless. They would tell us how inferior our Artillery systems were, then get their ass kicked when we would go to the field. [smilie=f:
And just one question, Who the hell is Princess Priscilla and why the hell did the Canadians care?

Maybe it was Patricia, but it would swear it was Priscilla. Of course when I learned about her, the Canadians were in the back of the howitzers drinking their rations of Royal Crown and Labatts on payday. They would each load up a round a "Boom" hold a toast to Princess Priscilla (Patricia).
There were about a dozen of us Americans, we were just amazed. [smilie=2:
those guys had no idea where their rounds were landing. looking back, it was a blast.

thats the Princess Patricia -- or best known as the Princess Pats-- a very tough regiment. as for hair cuts in the Army-- my buddy says to me when we go there hey get the guy with the glasses he,s the best see. even all the way around--- i walk in and there are 10 barbers and they all wear glasses. :bwuhaha::bwuhaha:i short sheeted his bed a few nites later and only told him a few years later. love it when a good joke is played out .. :bwuhaha::)-- thanks doc--
