Drawing (not so much as I used to) I used to write but I quit. Just lost the passion for it. That's about it for me.

Building and restoring tube stereo equipment, home theater and home brewing. Although lately the home brewing has taken a back seat. Also indoor target shooting with my 9mm S&W.

Little Donny is not so little anymore. He's 4 feet tall and 80 pounds, he'll be 7 in 2 weeks. He's doing pretty well, school seems to be getting easier for him, and he really likes it. He ask's about you once in a while, he wants to go to a NASCAR race this summer, I'll have to try and get him to a smaller track first, I don't think he'll handle the noise real well.

Snowmobiles, stereo and theater equiptment, porn, selling sex, having sex, and porn. Not in that order, neccesarily. :D:D
At least 3 of those may be true. :shifty:

What is it about stereo guys and porn? I forgot to list porn as a hobby, because well, actually it's more of a way of life than a hobby innit?

Wow small world I have built quite a few tube systems ( as a hobby ) my son wanted me to build a tube based home theater, but when I moved into the motel I gave away my big screen...My amp is in the pawn shop.. So that hobby is on hold but I found a good source for tubes here in town. Where do you get your tubes?
At intel I worked on a tube powered rack that had 9 channels with 5000w each channel, the tubes were water cooled cool stuff. we had 11 racks.. Seemed like I was always changing tubes and realigning to rematch.

I had a very good collection but now that is all gone... Long gone.. Really I do not miss it ( hands shacking... ) really..

lol...

I make SET stuff mostly using 12AU7 and 2A3 flea power amps. I like kits because I can't design a circuit to save my life, but it's fun to modify them. I get tubes on ebay, Antique Electronic Supply, TV repair shops that are closing, and I scavenge the TVs for transformers and chokes. There are plenty of drawings online for all sorts of fun stuff that's easy and cheap to build.

I also made a cuple of monoblocks once from the amp sections of discarded console stereos. There was a great thrift store that had literally tons of old consoles and I lucked into two identical Magnavox (I think) console units that were trashed beyond restoration except all the amp sections needed were new caps and tubes and they sounded quite nice!

This site www.bottlehead.com has some cool, but expensive kits. All you need is 2 and a half class "a" single ended triode monoblocks, a cheap preamp and some pvc pipe speakers filled with a pair of Fostex 4 inch full rangers and get ready for some sweet sweet tunes!

I collect $100 bills. :shifty:

....but I'm not doing very well.

Those Fostex drivers are groovy! :)

Here's a pic of some of the stuff I have/had. the big speakers are a friends, the little ones are my full range with the little Fostex drivers. It says something that those little cheapies gave the big ones a run for their money. The two monoblocks on the floor were my SET 2A3 amps monoblocks. and we were listening to my MMF-5 turntable. It's amazing how loud 2.5 watts can go!

Oh yeah, under the big tube stereo amp in the middle you can see a Pass Aleph that made the Charios (the big speakers) sing! My speakers are Hornshoppe rear loaded horns.
