Remember that HP exhaust manifold you repaired for me? Man, you did a bang-up job on that... remember the duct tape that was wrapped around it for no apparent reason, though?

I found out why it was there. It was holding something in place.




I literally found it yesterday. I moved the manifold, and in doing so I grabbed it by that section and felt something under the tape. It's the piece that was broken off in the first place. :bwuhaha:

Was that on the manifold that I repaired? I don't recall masking tape. That could have saved me a half hour and destroying a useless manifold.

Yep. It was there the whole time. I hesitated to tell you about it. I honestly did not know it was in there, and never once wondered why that tape was in place until I felt the bump under it yesterday and investigated. I about lost my shit laughing. I'm sure the neighbors though I'd finally come completely unraveled, cackling like a lunatic on the porch after putting the dog outside.

True enough, but you did spend time cutting up a manifold for no reason. I'm sure that piece fit perfectly, too.

Ya never know, if I had found it and looked it over I may have decided against using it anyways. It does look kinda flimsy.
