When Dodge cancelled hundreds of orders for 2015 Challenger and Charger Hellcat models, they said they would send those with dropped ordersa voucher for the 2016s.
The demand vastly exceeded expectations, and Dodge could not build the 707hp cars quicklyenough, leaving some orders fulfilled. Rather than automatically carry them over to 2016, the company sent out vouchers for money off the 2016 cars — which are to see an undefined price increase — and cancelled the orders, leaving buyers to start over.
Today, the first puzzle piece on 2016 pricing dropped into place. Paul Immo, who organizes the massive Moparpalooza show each year, loves the Hellcat Charger so much that he ordered one for the 2015 model year, but when the company was forced to cancel the remaining orders, his name was on that list.
