The first 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat broke into the 9-second quarter mile range back in September, with the aid of nitrous oxide. This weekend, the first Hellcat Charger ran a nine-second time — without nitrous oxide.
The Hellcat Charger wasmodified by High Horse Performance, which was behind the Hellcat Challenger that was the first to run in the 9.7 range back in September.
This time, they added an upper and lower pulley set tolift the boost pressure to 18psi, a free flowing exhaust system without catalytic converters, and an engine tuneto pump out902 horsepower and 866 lb-ft of torque.
To put the power to the ground, they used a tough Driveshaft Shop driveshaft, 3.09 rear gears, and lightweight rear wheels in drag radials. (...) →
