Defending NHRA Funny Car World Champion Matt Hagan and the Mopar/Rocky Boots Dodge Charger R/T have been eliminated from the championship this year following a disappointing first round in Las Vegas.
Mr. Hagan began the 2015 Mello Yello NHRA drag racing season with a win, and held the points lead until the SpringNationals in late April when teammate Ron Capps pulled ahead. Mr. Haganregained the top spot in early June, but starting in August, Jack Beckman started a streak that lasted through the rest of the regular season.
