Graphics

Does anyone else like to fire up Photoshop and make graphics? Years ago, when I was dating Rachel and we were going to build a couple of mud trucks she wanted me to make up graphics for them. I really enjoyed doing it; I may still end up using one or the other for a small-scale decal for the trunklid of the LB.

Of course, at the time I designed them they needed to be enormous truck-side decals, so they were pretty detailed.

Her "truck" was originally supposed to be an early '70s Colt, but after that car got crushed she decided on a D50. I'd already chosen the same truck for my build. I was never really into mud trucks that much, but it was something we could do together so I ran with it. Based on an accurate comment from her father, the original plan was to call her bogger "Colt Hearted" but we just went with the original statement's "Cold" after we could no longer secure the Colt. From the get-go, mine was to be "Psychotic Reaction" being that I planned to run 5-series gears, a stall converter around 5,500RPM, and a trans brake. Technically, her truck was to be the crazier of the two, much like she and I. :D

Anyhow, here are some much-lower-resolution versions of the originals, with close-ups of the detail in each. Sorry for the watermarks, but I have way too much time in them to have either one ripped for someone else's project. Unfortunately, something happened to the final version of mine, which was quite a bit different (the word "Psychotic" was shattered rather than just cracked) but this is the only version I have of it.

Let me know what you think...

I've played around a few times altering an existing image, but I don't have the expertise or experience to create from scratch.

That's impressive Doc, you never cease to amaze me.

All you need is an idea, a good knowledge of Photoshop, and a whole bunch of plug-ins.

Oh, and a ton of time.

very nice work indeed..shame you dont have the shattered version cause i like that style better than the craxcked

yeah thats the styling i love...dont take this the wrong way but to me its reminicent of the old broken blocks of the 80s mini trucks...another style i simply love to death..but its one of those things that has to be done on just the right body

Amazing work, Doc.

I don't have the patience for that kind of stuff, but occasionally I get an idea stuck in my head and I'll force my way through to an end result. Nothing on that level though.

I have a few graphics ideas floating around i my head but, you put me on Photoshop and I'll just sit there and look more lost than usual! :D

Me too. I suck at photoshop. Mostly because I just don't know how to use it.

Speeking of photo shop, What happened to the "where's Barny" thread? That stuff was a scream!

Kristin (Only Classics) is awesome with Photoshop! She tried showing me how to use it once and all she managed to do was confuse the hell out of me.
