Got the Dart

Okay I scored the Dart for $800, and a 360 short block for $0. Now on the 360 it loses oil pressure, but it has been rebuilt and only has about 15-20 miles on it. It has had the oil pump replaced, and a crank kit put in with NO change. I've heard from some sources that there is a oil galley plug or something like that, when not reinstalled will cause the motor to lose/not have oil pressure. Does anyone know if this is true, and if so where this is? Most of the parts are with the Dart, and I have scored a 69 Cuda dash bezel, I can get an A body 8 1/4 or a 67 B body 8 3/4 rear would the smaller hold up with a mild 360?

Here are some more pics, right 1/4 is the bad at the bottom, and there is some rust around the rear window, but the floors are solid

id jump on the 67 b rear...youl be needing an odd offset wheel but its an 8 3/4 and will fit on the springs..its whats under my 67 fishy and i didnt move the perches....im guessing you need a 69 dash frame to go with your guage set?

No fenders Resto, you gotta line on a decent pair :hmmm: ? I thought the rear was a good bet also 69, yes I now need a frame and gauges, all I got was the bezel, but for $20 I can't complain :2thumbs:. Also a patch for the right rear quarter panel. I am accepting any A body part donations :bwuhaha:

uhh well i dont have "half" wheel wells ..on the green 69 its got a 67b-body rear and running stock wheels with ZERO clearance issues on stock suspension eg tires inside and behind the wheelwells...the 69 1/2 is running a 68 or 69(unsure) b rear with 10 inch wide full revers offset cragger ss with i belive L-60 15's...basicly about the same looking tire as a 315/55/15....my 67 is running a 66 b rear on 10 inch full revers offset craggers with 295 50 15s...mind you yeah im running air shocks..but on fishys theres something to be said about that 70s look of the ass in the air nose on the ground with some fat meats out back

I was thinkin my cop car wheels with 71 Ralley center caps...guess it'll be trial and error...the nose down ass in the air in South Jersey screams scuzzy white trailer trash [smilie=f: ...I'm only white trash, :shifty: I don't want to fall all the way down the ladder...and I want to sell this thing when I'm done with it :D

back to the low oil pressure shortblock. I'm intrigued. So it's a "shortblock" now, that means the $$$ was in the heads? is it possible to install an LA rocker shaft upside down?

brother dragged home a ramcharger with 318 that ran (0 oil pressure) with a broken oil pump shaft. the sludge kept it from grenading.

yeah if you put the rockers on upside down you get zero oiling at the top and and shit loads of clatter
i imagine the cop car wheels will probably fit under it and have some spare clearance

He didn't say anything about noise,:hmmm: it had J heads, they were sold to recoup some money. I will use the Magnum heads I have so all I have to buy is an oil pan, head gasket set, and intake manifold. I have the rest of the parts for the motor. When I get it home I will tear into the short block :helpme: and post what I find. The Cuda looks good, I like the stance:dance: ...no good for Dart though

yeah a 318 pan will bolt up and apear to be correct on a 360 leaveing a 1/2 gap all the way around the rear pan seal

There is an oil plug behind the oil filter plate on the side of the block. A lot of shops take that out to hot tank the block. But never seem to put it back in. Dave
