Hey all,
Messed with my '74 Coronet Custom 4-dr Saturday night, it needed some work, thing would barely stay running off choke, no accel. pump shot, gas leak under float bowl and a miss. To say it was Rich and undriveable was an understatement!
Its just a 318-2v car and I didnt have any extra $$ to spend so I went out back and grabbed a cap, rotor, and plug wires off an '86 318 out back and threw em on there. Also used a carb off that motor (it was rebuilt from an '85 Truck). Let me say that while it needs a bit of tuning, that car has never run better since I've had it! Its actually driveable now.
Plans for this car are to tag/insure it and drive it over the winter so I can work with my Dart a bit. Come summer I may sell it locally to someone needing a car.
The bad thing though is that the 318 isnt the greatest. When its warm you can hear a noticeable rod knock. But, its a Moapr so it should hold up okay.
Progress on the BB Truck has halted, because I need to find some parts to let me finish installing that motor. Namely a 3/4 ton brake booster, an intake, and some other misc. parts. Its also coming winter so I want to do as much yard cleaning as I possibly can before the snow flies.
Oh, and that RR from the other post is a '78 Volare-based one. Couldnt bear to leave ya hanging on that one. Its an Orange one with a 318-2v that runs pretty good. Kinda rough though. Its also just a base package, as in no spoilers, louvers, or flares. My R/T is much more desirable IMO since it has all that stuff.
Did I mention I hate the fact that Winter is coming along and I have no place to work indoors? Well, I sort of do but its not that much of a place, as in falling down walls, etc.
Just a small update from the land of many Mopars!
