Hey! There’s no easy button for a body like this!
I heated my old garage with wood for 20 years. I once enjoyed cutting firewood. It got old. The time used up cutting, hauling, splitting, and stacking wood took was a lot.. I would burn about 4 full cord a winter. Plus about two full cord in the summer with camping and the yard fire pit
My new garage is MUCH larger. the old one was 24'x26' This one is 30'x32'. Let me tell you how much nicer it is to be a member of the gas heated garage club! I seldom worked in the old garage after work because by the time the garage was worm I was ready to go in the house for the night. Not to mention I was always slightly concerned with the very real possibility of having a fire of some sort.
My new place is warm when I get home so I work out there most every night for a couple of hours. I have a rule about that though. I work out there for no more than 2 hours a night. After that 2 hours is up I go in and spend time with my family.
I never would have gotten the roof repairs and vinyl top replaced last year by spring if I didn't have gas heat,
As far as temperature settings go. I set it at about 56 deg. and turn it up to 60 when I'm out there. It stays at 60 Friday night until Sunday night. It runs very little even on the coldest days. I have 8 inches of insulation in the walls and around 28 inches in the ceiling.
On a side note. A window air conditioner keeps it plenty cool in the summer months.
