I am supposed to ask how much damage will result from a bent flywheel and how much? Since his pc took a dive I am the middle man. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

is it a auto or manual?...in an auto it should just be a cheep flex plate i belive..in a manual well yeah flywheel

It's an automatic. When Dave pulled my original motor it fell off the hoist and it bent the flywheel. He had to put my original flywheel back on as the one from the new motor didn't line up with the bolt holes. I have a ZJ Grand Cherokee and the new motor is from a XJ Cherokee. I was told they had similar chassis and drivetrains... maybe this one had the other type of auto trans? I know there are 2 or 3 different trannys for these things. Dave says he will swap out the flywheel for me if I want hom to but considering it took 2 months to get it done and he kinda scammed his way thru it, well it's going into the shop to be done right! Obviously I don't have the tools or know-how to pull a motor tranny out of one of these things. However I do know that to pull the tranny you have to either pull the motor as the top bellhousing bolt is a mile long, or drop the whole front end out of the thing...:dgt: Like I said, I'm having pros do it!

darn sound like a hard fix but I was told that about the Volvo as well as it was swapped from a auto to a 4 speed I was advised I would have to drop the sub frame to access the top bellhousing bolt. I took me under 4 hrs from parking the car to haveing the motor out on the ground. I hope yours is as easy all you should have to do is drop the trans and swap the flexplate ( autos do not have flywheels in the modern times ). Wish I lived closer.... Good luck is your PC fixxed?

It might mess up the pump in the transmission, since the converter would now be wobbling.

Well I drove it just long enough to get it home, (60mph for about 1/2 hour on I-75) and another 2 miles or so to get it to the shop. It's there getting fixed the RIGHT way for $600. I asked the mechainc to save the old flywheel for me...[smilie=i: Lets just say Dave most likely will not be to pleased with his new lawn ornament!!![smilie=i:[smilie=i: Hope he stubs his toes on it too!!
