FCA US LLC reported 152,218 USsales in the first month of 2017, an 11% drop fromJanuary 2016. Part of that fall is due to a strategy of slashing daily-rental fleet sales, tomake lease residuals more attractive; the company cut fleet sales by 31%, to42,868. Retail sales were actually flat, at 109,350 — around 72% of January sales.
