FCA recall-monitor chosen

Some time ago, FCA US was required to pay an independent monitor to oversee their attempts to get more customers to follow recalls, and to handle recalls more effectively, after investigations revealed that some customers were not contacted and that, often, dealers did not have needed parts.
On Friday, FCA US announced that itselected former United States Secretary of Transportation Rodney E. Slater and two other candidates as independent monitor candidates. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) selected Mr. Slater, currently a partner in the Squire Patton Boggs law firm.
Mr. Slater’s time will be a considerable expense, but fulfills the terms of the company’s consent order. (...) →
