Junior and his two brats moved out yesterday. He got his own place, which should last right up until the cold weather when he gets his first $300 heat and $200 electric bill, then adds that to the $500 rent and realizes that's more than he makes in a month, even with his welfare boosting his $9/hr job.

Still, a couple of months of relative peace will be nice. Much less shouting and door-slamming already. I could get used to this... but I won't.

My neighbors aren't bad, mostly friendly types, a few keep to themselves. It's more the idea of neighbors is what I dislike.

My neighbourhood has been getting worse in the last few years. I live out in the valley, away form the "big" city. But as the price of real estate rises in the city, more of the "low renters" move out towards my area. :(

I'm the baddass in this neighborhood, loud motorcycles, saws & grinders making noise. [smilie=i:[/QUOTE]
Yeah... I'm the noise maker here too.
Compressor, saws, grinders, impacts, and lately, a hammer on an anvil. :)
Occasional smells of urethane paints and primers... and three dogs that make their presence known.

I make sure to have a few beers with the neighbours now and then...

I've got one neighbour who thinks it's her job to keep animal control on speed dial, but her boyfriend is a former customer that I've known for close to thirty years. He helps me keep my beer stock rotated properly.

My neighbors are, for the most part, great. The ones on the other side of me will snowblow my paths in the winter, partially mow my lawn in the summer, give me fresh vegetables from the garden, offer me rides... all kinds of wonderful things. It's really just the one house. The remainder of the neighbors don't say much, but they'll wave as they go by and sometimes roll their eyes at what's happening in the yard (like the mostly-disassembled '81 Imperial parts car out there now) and never give me a moment's trouble.
