Dukes of hazard...

Not the same, no but I have always wondered what other Mopes would look like in General trim....just me.

'69 Chargers done that way are as gay as AIDS... even worse when someone does it to a different body style. I've also seen it done to a '70 Challenger, a '72 Charger, and a '71 Satellite. Horrifying.

Remember when Hot Wheels introduced the "Dixie Challenger" to try and capitalize on the Dukes fervor? That was intensely stupid as well.

Why do people think so highly of that show? All they did was destroy classic cars while recycling the same plot in every episode.

doc..while i share your opinion on the use of the scheeme on other cars as being just stupid and disgusting..lets not get into a bashing of the show...some of use like me and fishy grew up watching it and never missed an episode

Dude, I watched the very-first episode of that show in a hotel room in Munising, MI, with my older brother, while on vacation (my sisters were gone to summer camp). I was 9. I vowed to never miss an episode, but after the first season I was tired of the same old plot line being used in every episode, and only watched once in a while only to be frustrated that the show was the same old same old.

At the time, I didn't think about the destruction of valuable parts, because '68-'70 Chargers were pretty common... I simply despised the show for lack of creativity. Now that I'm older, and 2nd-gen Charger stuff is harder to get, it's simply another reason to hate the show. It doesn't affect me directly, since I don't own a 2G Charger, I never had, and I'd be surprised if I ever did. Still, I hate it for the guys that do, because a lot of perfectly-good cars and parts were destroyed for a show that repeated the same plot through every episode for seven seasons.

I liked the show also before I had an appreciation. And we had a Mopar in the house! It makes me sick now, not to mention the movie that ruined so many others so we could look at Jessica's tits and ass and not much else.

There was a guy at a Mopar run at S.I.R. (Pacific Raceway now) a few years back with a Gen and a photo album of pictures from a lot with the cars that got wrecked. On some the damage was incredible (front clip bent up further than the roof line was one of the worst ones). It was sad to look at.

Had a friend who would tape them Friday nights when we were freshmen. Why his step-dad spent almost $1000 bucks on a VCR in 1980? that's a couple other stories :D giggity giggity

Did you ever wonder how many chah-chas were saved because of the show?

There's a demo team 'round these parts and they paint everything up like General Lee, so the Coronet doesn't scare me one little bit.
