Well, I put it off so long because it was just too simple :shifty:

If you have a cable transmission kick-down and the car it's on has a few miles on it, go out and adjust the dang thing already.

on my 91 Dynasty 2.5 with 246K on the bottom end:helpme: and 3 speed auto transaxle (junkyard replacement at 210K), after adjusting the cable and filling up I drove a little over 300 miles with 150 of those stop and go on the paper route, the rest short (30 miles tops) trips. I just got 27 mpg. I've checked just the route before and averaged 17, took a long trip last year and the best all highway was 23.:bravo:

A sure sign is play in the cable at the throttle. Sluggish up-shifting and erratic "passing gear" are obvious symptoms too.
