Just an update. So if this does indeed go down does it spell the end of Chrysler? What happens to the Challenger, Mopar Performance parts division, the Hemi nameplate? Methinks GM would carve up Chrysler like a stuffed bird and sell off every remaining piece of the carcass to the highest bidder. This will utterly suck if it happens

I don't know that they would carve it up, not right away at least. Neither company is doing well enough on their own otherwise they wouldn't be talking. Together? who knows. Lots of jobs will be lost either way and the unions are kicking and screaming against the merger.
If the government can throw stacks of money at their buddies in the banking sector they should be able the help the companies that produce real tangible products.

One more nugget. When Chrysler bought AMC the Mopar world "adopted" the AMC brand. Some of those Javelin/AMX machines are especially cool. If this goes down will we all "adopt" the GM nameplate and start loving Camaros and Corvettes?????[smilie=f: Makes me want to f*cking puke just thinking it. :hurl:

chevy throws the ability to repop parts to anyone and everyone willing to do so....that means more re-poped parts for all of us!.....and theres alot of other stuff like that..i can see ALOT of good coming out of it..

sure mopars would be orphans in my eyes..but they have been for a long while now

This whole GM thing is totally upsetting to me........I hate GM with a passion!! I know I'm probably gonna get killed saying this, but I'd rather see a merge with Ford. :gaga:

I truly hope this doesn't happen, but I suppose it would just be delaying the inevitable.......
