my computer is so freaking slow nomatter what, and it keeps freezing when i try and defrag..waht the heck do i do
any suggestions?

see if you can download ad-aware or something like that and scan for that kinda shit.
usually the first time it runs you'll find abunch of crap. then if you restart the computer in "safe-mode" and run it again it will find even more hidden crap.

Yup, adaware and spybot but update the definitions before you run em and reboot. The new spybot has a thing called tea timer which helps block crap from the internet from getting in. Friggin geeks need to get L@#*$!!

And find the latest version...

I installed the above-noted version yesterday and it downloads all of the programs to do its work, THEN checks for an update to itself. When it found there was a newer version, it downloaded it, THEN the new version downloaded all the external programs again!

But the wait was worth it. Great little interface to all of those programs. Although I have to investigate some of those programs - I'm sure I was getting some false positives from some - likely from reading the files of all of my existing countermeasures.
