Jeep has issued its third recall for the new Jeep Compass, affecting 27,000 cars in the US and an unspecified number elsewhere. A relatively small number of Compasses have loose passenger-side airbag inflator mounting nuts within an assembly — not loose as in “not tightened properly,” but loose as in “extra nut just rattling around.”
The airbag assemblies were all built from August 28 to October 21,
