It’s been quite a few years now, but 92-year-old Bob Cather vividly remembers what his first thoughts were when a business acquaintance called him up out of the blue and told him about a car he was interested in selling.

“I remember a car like it in a body shop being painted. I told him I remembered seeing a car like that one time, and he said, ‘That was it!’”

I really want to like this car, but the headlights prevent it. They're awful, and in this era of automotive history they're such a prominent part of the styling.

It's funny how he talks about his '33 Packard being a much better car than the '32 Buick by saying "what a difference a year makes" when in fact, it's probably more like "What a difference in engineering a premium brand makes." In today's market, his comparison would be like stepping from a 2015 Taurus to take the wheel of a year-newer S-Class Mercedes. He's comparing apples to ravioli.

I like anything from the 30's. The styling is so regal.

Kinda makes you want to go out and buy a Tommy gun and a zoot suit. :D

pretty as it is...NOTHING from the 30s gets me harder than the imperial, doozy and packard.(i swear its those long bodys and long hoods).and the seriously obscure like the Bucciali TAV 12...
