I have serious issues, so I'm
but in a good way, I guess.
We were watching an Ebay ad for a 318 with trans and decided to pony up the 99 bucks because we've been wanting to have a spare 727. Plus a 318 would fit nicely in the Dart while drinking about the same gas as a slant, with a bit more power to boot.
Oddly enough when Piggy went to pick it up it had a 4 barrel intake with a Quadrajet carb. The guy said it came out of a 1978 van and had 90,000 miles on it. It was in a dark barn, late at night, and Piggy just wanted to get home so he made sure there weren't any rods hanging out of the block and bailed.
Got home and degreased the block and checked the numbers and it's a 360 cast in 1988. Damn, we can't even buy a 318 without f-ing it up.
As an additional bonus it has a Saginaw power steering pump that will fit in my car (mine has been leaking for a while.) That saves me around $60 because I was on the verge of buying a new one. It also has a mini starter, and a big alternator, double pulleys, brackets, and other bits and pieces so it's nice to have some freebie spares around.
What the hell we are going to do with it, I dunno, might still go in the Dart or up on the shelf with the other small blocks.
