Big Toe - er - Tow

ok..yup..im sold on chroming my ramp trucks grill

now go swipe me those fargo emblems!!!!!
i need those cab lights too

i wonder how functional the wrecker boom is cause that ole girl is a sweetie

a wrecker having its bed not function is about as good as a trailer queen being pushed around the show field

Even if you never hang anything off that hook?

This truck is pretty - and while it doesn't appear to be overly pampered, I don't think the owner is going to scratch and gouge the paint up dragging junk around with it.

But you never know....

There was a local guy who had a pilot car 71 440/6 charger. Very cool car, but they guy cheaped out near the end of the resto and did not put on metal exhaust...made it out of PVC pipe! Wasn't going to fire it anyway. ;) He also would not put brake fluid in the system for fear of leaks ruining the paint and detailed suspension etc. Well he brought it to one of the shows many years ago and unloaded it from the trailer, it got away from him and rolled back into a tree...dented the back bumper pretty bad...haven't seen or hear of the car since then. Dumb ass!

that pretty well defines my point....if anything is "fake" or just for looks its pointless...much like the guys in the 80's/90s who were building streetrods as showcars using a PLASTIC engine block

Well, when you build a truck to that level of completion and make it that nice, I guess you can do it how you want it. I don't know whether the the towing gear on the thing is functional or not, and I don't care.... I do know that if it was mine, I wouldn't be beating the thing up by hooking up and dragging cars around with it. I enjoyed seeing it just as it is, which is why I shared it here for others to enjoy as well.

Plus it made for a nicely "restored" one ton truck, which most people wouldn't bother to do in the first place because they are too big & ungainly to be a hot rod and most of them were equipped with a stake bed for farming and light delivery.

For what it's worth, it ran and drove just fine, as did it's older brother, owned by the same guy:

dont be confused by my curiosity...its a lovely truck as its stable mate is too....even better it looks like it gets worked by the bed wear....im not sure if id use the wrecker or not..probably would actualy just cause its that much cooler...idealy id probably have something "era" ish hung from the hook at the show

Judging by the marks on the front bumper protective rubber, it has seen some use.
Very cool trucks, both of them.
