Battery switch install pic.

My thanks to barney for helping me make the cables for the kill switch today. [smilie=e: Seeing how he works on those battery powered lift trucks he has the proper tools for soldering and crimping the 2/0 cable I am using. [smilie=c:
Still need to do some minor mods to the switch before hooking it up but I have settled on a location for it.

A previous owner had a key operated anti-theft switch mounted there so the hole was already in place. [smilie=w: The studs on the switch are a tad long for my liking as they come close to the back of the trunk wall so I will be trimming them a bit.

and a second note....if the kill switch does NOT kill the car when running its not to drag raceing specs

also see if you cant get some rubber plug/nipples to cover the studs on the terminals

a track emt doesnt have time to look closely..it needs to be clear from 5 feet or more if memory serves

Hmmm,[smilie=e: Don't recall askin for technical advice in this thread... [smilie=w:

Switch is clearly marked..red decal with white lettering, pic does not show it well however.

When you are taking pictures like this one, you might want to open the camera iris a bit. The picture is a little dark.

Also - in the following sentence:

There should be a space between the comma and the word "pic."

For that matter abbreviating a simple word like "picture" will make people think you are lazy. [smilie=i:

[smilie=2: Dont look him in the eye beeper, he'll smell the fear! [smilie=e:

How rude. 69 was just trying to help.
Personally, I prefer a toggle switch. BTW, how you supposed to hit that when you ate busy blowing up? [smilie=a:

Barney has volunteered to ride in the trunk. [smilie=e:

Beeper old buddy, The switch looks good there, Not sure if your local track will like it or not. Main thing is, do you have the charge line off your alternator hooked to a solenoid to shut it off, or is that a three lug switch for the alt? I'm sure you know that the Alternator will keep it running with the switch off.

Charge wire is hooked to solenoid and yes it will remain running with switch off.

Local guys have this set-up and pass tech,I am also adding a kill switch inside the car.
Most likely a toggle switch. [smilie=w:

Let me look,I might have a set even. Also have a cherry hood with scallops just has a slight blower hole in it. [smilie=2:

Do you have to have taht kill switch if your car runs past a certain time? Or is it needed for all cars? And what is the time? there I think I asked enough :-P

Switch is required if battery is moved to trunk, what with all the extra cable and such the idea is to kill the power close to the battery in case of a short caused during a *gulp* wreck. [smilie=e:

Alternator lead has a fusible link as do all wires coming from main power block under the hood.
An interior kill switch is a good idea with column lock cars regardless,in case you need to shut it off quick you don't wanna inadvertantly lock the steering. [smilie=e:

It's true that most tracks require the car to be shut off with the rear switch but I'm unsure of the class requirements for this.
We have only done "test&tune" sessions and the way I have it set up has passed tech in the past.

Who did not know that, the 69 has 2 batteries in the trunk. Never took her down the 1/4 though, but wouldn't that have been a crapy suprise. [smilie=e:
