Audioslave is no more.

owell , it just seems like bands cant stay togather now adays . i thought the first CD was great , " OUT OF EXILE ' i didnt like that much so im kinda leary of the 3d
i think Cornell wants to do a solo gig anyways . :bravo:
 
I have never even held an AudioSlave cd in my hands. Was a pretty big SoundGarden fan though. Yeah bands now aw days lack longevity, which is why I have to give Metallica, Slayer, Aerosmith, ZZ Top and a few other rock/metal bands credit. They have stuck together in one form or another. Be it new line-ups for a few records or what have you. They have all been around at least 20 years and still going!! :bravo: Too see a band from say after the mid/late 80's do that is just unheard of really.

like i said the 1st AUDIOSLAVE CD is great if you never listened to go get it youll like it .

as much as i like METALLICA the really havet stuck togather Jason Newsted is gone but i guess in away they still have stuck togather i belive that if Cliff Burton would have lived they would still be togather . they are still the all time BEST band :bravo:
 
Well the one thing that turned me off getting the first album was "Cochese" didn't really care for that song for some reason. I've heard it's a great album though and someday I'll break down and buy a copy. As for metallica...well...as much as I LOVE old Metallica I can't say I'm as big a fan as I used to be, although Rick Rubin is producing the new album and it is inspired by the fact they played the Puppets album in it's entireity live on their last tour in honor of Cliff Burton. So for that simple fact I remain hopeful but after the insult to my ears that was St. Anger,....I just don't know if they truly have it anymore. :(

as for MATALLICA not having it anymore , :huh: well have to wait and see , you have to remember this is a band that started out in 1980 or so and played HARD HEAVY & FAST :fishy: 25-27 years of that would have to take its toll , even if they played at half the energy they had back then im going to buy the new album and if they come to pittsburgh im going to see them . that will be the first concert ive been to since 1990 AC/DC RAZORS EDGE tour . i really would have liked to see TOOL & METALLICA togather but that was in friggn CHINA or some shit like that last year . :bravo:
 
Yeah I'll most likely buy Metallica's new album as I have every other one they put out just because there is still that part of me that wants to believe there is something worth listening to on those albums. I have all from Kill em All to St. Wasteoftime and I'll get this one too just to see what it sounds like. I know they still have a little thrash/speed metal in them somewhere! Hell even Load and Reload had a few shining moments. Ahh well the wait continues.....funny how this went from AudioSlave to Metallica! :D

Audioslave the last great american heros ( what am I refering to a Mopar connection ) my son turned me onto audioslave before they had any airplay we were able to see thier first outdoor concert.
I just got Chris Cornell Unplugged in Sweden ( sp?) very great stuff.

Rob Audioslave was the band made up from Chris Cornell and Rage against the machine. They had some great songs and some not so great songs. To me I was reminded a little of my other fav band Blind Faith that was made up from traffic and Cream. They did not always seam on the same page audioslave was a little like that with the mix of soundgardon and Rage.. humm both were hard rockers that replaced thier singers.
Yes I do put Chris Cornell and Steve Winwood in the same group, both are absolute great singers for there times.
IMHO what did not help audioslave was like Blind Faith they were labled Super Group At least we have 3 CDs and a unpluged to enjoy from Audioslave . This makes me sad but I hope Cornell has the long term suscess that Winwood had.

Shucks now I have no currnet group on my playlist...
 
Well Chris Cornell is going solo and has his second album due out later this year. He covers Michael Jackson's Billie Jean on his new album. Can't wait to hear it. The rest of the band have reformed with Zack De LaRocha and Rage Against the Machine is playing a few select dates here and there. Not a full on reunion, just doing it for a good cause. I used to call Audio Slave "Rage Against the SoundGarden" or "RageGarden" basically what it was if you think about it. Sad to see the band go out like that but like you said we do have 3 albums worth. Though I have never bought one or even held one in my hands, I do know they put out alot of great music and also some that I could do without. They tried new things and experimented a bit with their style. For that I give major credit! :bravo:
